Mission Statement
The Graduate School of Tourism master’s program aims to equip students with a high level of expertise in scientific clarification from an interdisciplinary perspective. The program enables students to develop application and creative skills and also the ability to act from an international perspective.
Diploma Policy
In accordance with the purpose and mission of Wakayama University and the policy of Graduate School of Tourism, the Degree of Master of Tourism is granted to those who are deemed to have achieved the following goals based on the objectives and mission of Wakayama University and the objectives of the Graduate School of Tourism.
- A high level of expertise and research skills
? Research skills to analyze complex and multilayered tourism phenomena from a broad interdisciplinary perspective, and a high degree of specialized knowledge
? The ability to think logically and to take action to conduct academic and research activities related to tourism studies, and to bring the results to fruition in the form of a master's thesis that is evaluated for theme, composition, originality, positioning, and level of achievement - Cooperation and ethics
? The collaborative skills to solve problems in tourism-related areas through appropriate communication
? Ethical standards and perspective related to tourism phenomena - Regional interest and global perspective
? The ability to elucidate tourism phenomena occurring in the local and global community
