4.?Job Description
Education (20%)
Teaching courses in English the "Minor college course ‘Wakayama Japanese Studies’"
(tentative name), as well as organizing lectures and seminars on international affairs.
Research (20% )
Conducting research on Japanese culture, tourism, international cooperation.
Management and administration (60%)
(1) Planning and implementation of the globalisation in education and research
(2) Developing and coordinating international cooperation and establishing agreements
between universities.
(3) Planning and development of international student support.
5. Appointment Date
April 1, 2023
6. Qualification requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements
(1) Foreign language as a first language.
(2) Holding a Master's degree or higher degree.
(3) Excellent command of English.
(4) Experience in international cooperation, or international students education in higher
education sector or international organizations in Japan or abroad.
7. Conditions
Full-time: Ongoing (6 months probationary period. Retirement age is 65 years old.
Discretionary work for professional services: 5 days a week, basic work hours are 8:30 a.m.
to 5:15 p.m. (7 hours and 45 minutes per day).
(It is considered as working 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.)
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays
(12/29 - 1/3).
8. Benefits
Annual salary system (in accordance with the salary regulations for faculty members of
Wakayama University)
Benefits: Mutual aid insurance (health insurance), Welfare pension insurance, employment
insurance, industrial accident compensation insurance
Reference: Average annual salary of each position for those tenured at the University
Professor:
9,980,000 yen (total amount paid)

Associate Professor:
8,220,000 yen (total amount paid)
1,680,000 yen (various taxes, insurance premiums, etc.)
6,540,000 yen (take-home pay)
