Wakayama University was accepted as a UNWTO Affiliate member

Wakayama University was accepted as one of 27 new Affiliate members by the UNWTO General Assembly at its 21st session held in September in Medellin, Colombia. Professor Kumi Kato and Mr Takuya Fujii participated in this session from the Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University.

By being a UNWTO affiliate member, we will enhance possibilities and opportunities to utilise UNWTO initiatives in tourism research and education, and develop our own knowledge and capacity in the internationalisation process of the university, also making contributions to regional communities in tourism development.
